My multiplicity is not a desire to be multifaceted. It stems from an impossibility of reduction. Dance alone is not always enough. Writing alone is not enough. Nor is music alone. Some subjects require several bodies and systems of translation.

Mackenzy Bergile is a Franco-Haitian choreographer, designer of objects, costumes and stage devices, pianist-composer, poet and dramaturge. His work brings together dance, music, writing, archives, images and materials to question memory, colonial inheritances, family transmission and forms of survival. He develops a body of work in which the body becomes at once an archive, an instrument, a place of repair and a space of apparition.
