Video Premiere: Pourpre »Cauchemar d’Amour«

Video still from Pourpre »Cauchemar d’Amour«, 2020, White Garden.

Of misfortunes, moments of joy, struggles and reconciliation: the music video for Pourpre’s »Cauchemar d’Amour« tells of the different stages of a love relationship.

The first EP Opus d’été: Nihilisme by the Montpellier-born musician Pourpre is a great sound fresco combining aerial melodies with rough nu-metal drums. In a world where lucidity meets the imaginary, where the darkness is penetrated by rays of light, we feel this musical hybridization also in the subjects addressed, where human emotions coexist with mystical and fantastic universes.

Like the whole project, this video clip is about human relationships and their complexity, half of it constructed in 3D. Simon Miné and Théo Di Rosa created the 3D part, Simon also designed all the backgrounds and landscapes, Théo created the characters from cover art forms, and Pourpre and Alexis Brunet directed.

The visual identity of this project was designed by visual artist and musician William Binta aka Clochefolle, the EP was released on the label White Garden on September 24.
