Layers of sound lie over the mellow but ornamental sound, sampled from an Italian opera by the experimental rapper OHYUNG: »The song is about self-loathing and obsession. Pitched vocals and nonsensical lyrics sit on top of a loop of chopped and screwed phrases. It ends with a nihilistic thought referring to American imperialism and capitalism.«
On April 8th he will release his second album PROTECTOR via Chinabot – a platform creating a digital diaspora community of Asian artists – which deals with topics like beauty, gender, and body image. Gentle, anti-nostalgic, and fully charged.
