Essentials February 4 - 10

Where to go and what to do - every week, PW-Magazine selects the most exciting events and exhibitions that should not be missed in Vienna!

Tuesday - February 5

Literature Book presentation
Immerjahn
In her debut novel, Barbara Zeman tells of miserable masculinity and the absurdities of an aestheticized life; sumptuous and traditional, with fine comedy and intoxicating language power. Reading, conversation and music at Literaturhaus Wien.

Wednesday - February 6

Art Curator’s tour
The Value of Freedom
Curator Severin Dünser presents the works in the exhibition, describes connecting narrative threads, and offers exciting views into curatorial issues at Belvedere 21.

Art Opening
Naked City
At his solo show at the Knoll gallery, Andràs J. Nagy develops themes and subjects already familiar to his photographic oeuvre - people living the city and people being outlived by the city.

Friday - February 8

Music Live
Brandstätte Concert: STATION ROSE
SFIEMA, the association for sound Art, free improvistation and experimental music Austria, invites you to Café Korb for concerts with Digital Art pioneers STATION ROSE as well as The Happy Sun and Mia Zabelka / Gavin Canu.

Music Party
Nodrama
The party dedicated to the constructive handling of powerful emotions presents the DJs Misonica, Leclerc, Nastya Muravyova from Ukraine, and Flower Crime at Venster 99.

Saturday - February 9

Theatre Film
FROST
For the 30th anniversary of the death of Thomas Bernhard, the mumok cinema will be showing Joerg Burgers film of the production FROST by Sabine Mitterecker for the first time. The staging with Andreas Patton in the title role was awarded the Nestroy Prize.

Music Party
Werk Statt Raum
Das Werk is linguistically committed to the German (the floors are called »Laster« and »Luster«). Consequently, the event of the house is wordplayingly titled, too. Musically, things will be quite varied (within the expectable): Patrick Pulsinger, JPS LIVE, Agonis, MAELANIN, Armin Schmelz, Conny Frischauf, and Marc Graebnor.
