Independent Space Index 2018

For the duration of three days in October, the Viennese independent art spaces are presenting a varied program of openings, screenings, talks, guided tours and performances.

The Independent Space Index is both a self-organized, comprehensive index of local artist-run and independent art spaces (also called »Off-Spaces« or Alternative Spaces) in Vienna, Austria as well as a platform of representation for the local association of independent art spaces under the same name, formed in late 2017. 

About a year after its founding, the initiative now wants to show that Vienna’s young art scene can work together and point out the precarious situation of state funding. From Thursday to Saturday the festival invites you to art spaces that are spread over almost all Viennese municipal districts and offers an exciting program. This time we do not make recommendations, let Vienna’s independent art scene surprise you:
