PW-Magazine’s fashion editor and photographer Laura Schaeffer met FAKA backstage at Hyperreality festival for a quick photoshoot before going on stage.

The performance duo FAKA creates a new representation for queer identity and experiences. With vibrant on-stage performances and extravagant looks (here by the Viennese designer Christoph Rumpf), they give being black, queer and feminine a powerful voice. Facing a huge underrepresentation of black queer bodies in today’s industry, the two skillfully move in media and genres.
